Ever since the most recent 2018 "God of War" PlayStation exclusive was released to thunderous approval from fans and critics alike, everyone in the gaming world has been eagerly awaiting the next installment in the storied franchise. That game won Game of the Year, beating out the likes of "Red Dead Redemption 2," and this year's iteration was always going to be in consideration.
And after this epic 3 minute trailer featuring story hints, gameplay, and spectacular cinematic shots dropped today, people are more excited than ever for the November 9th release date. It will no doubt face stiff competition from "Elden Ring" for GOTY, and nobody can discount the surprise performer "Stray," but if "God of War Ragnarok" can recapture the magic it filled us with back in 2018 it will certainly have a shot. But enough about what game wins what. All we want are as many spectacular gaming experiences as we can get, and this will no doubt provide one of those. I'd go so far so to say that whether it wins or not, this will be the best game of the year.
